To support HIV-positive college students and ensure an illness doesn’t impact their studies, Safe STD offers scholarships to concerned students. The scholarship awards range between $250 to $5000 depending upon the student’s HIV status and application.

You must be an HIV-positive student currently enrolled in college in the United States. The scholarship is open for those students who can present proof of their HIV-positive status. You must also offer evidence of financial need. We review applications carefully and award amounts based on need, academic promise, and the content of your essay.
After reviewing your application, we will notify you through the email you provide in the application form. Timing may vary based on the number of applicants and the thoroughness of your documentation. Generally, we notify applicants about the result in 4 to 8 weeks after submission.
To make sure the right students get this scholarship, students will be asked to write an essay that describes their medical condition (as it pertains to their HIV status), their academic goals, and how this scholarship can help them complete their education. We need this to evaluate financial need and commitment to education.
